Gino Zaccaria’s text „The Light of Cézanne“ explores the experience and the notion of light and colour in Cézanne’s painting.
Central to this interpretive attempt is the „ardour“ of the sun, or, which is the same, the „awfulness“ of its light.
The sun itself eventually emerges as the „first painter“ of nature, who creates in the first place what is handed to the „human painter“ for him to re-create it in his daily work.
However, these insights imply a transformation of the sense of truth, and consequently of the conception of nature.
